Masha Sorin first found yoga in 1999 and began practicing, at the age of 17, in her room with videos. She first started with Ashtanga and power yoga, she then found Anusara, Bikram and Hatha Yoga. She received her teacher training in 2004 through The Rama Lotus Centre, and YogaFit as well several continuous education credits from Anusara Yoga Schools. She then went on to obtain additional credentials which include KidYoga, Zumba, Turbokick, Pilates, as well as teaching one of a kind classes like Bootcamp and “On the Ball Sculpt, and HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) classes. She was on the board of YTNWO (Yoga Teachers of Northwest Ohio) and participated as a yoga instructor at two of Ohio state’s National Yoga Days. It was from the yoga and the health and wellness community was where she discovered her love of bodywork. She considered going into massage therapy in 2006 after graduating from the University of Toledo, OH with a B.A in Arts and Sciences, but held off and went into the personal training and group fitness route instead. In 2009, Masha moved to California and finally, here in sunny San Diego, she met many more like-minded people with similar goals, and was always drawn to holistic healthcare. In 2011 she had the amazing opportunity to live and work in Costa Rica and teach yoga at Bamboo YogaPlay; a yoga and massage studio. She was re-inspired there to learn massage and upon her return to San Diego, began school for Massage Therapy at IPSB, International Professional School of Bodywork, from where she is now a licensed Massage Therapist. She continues to take other massage modalities and will soon achieve a Holistic Healthcare Practitioner license. Bodywork is a true passion for her and feels like it is something she has been called to do for many years. She is incredibly excited to blend her knowledge of the body in yoga and massage and lead other on this healing journey. She is now training in Ashiatsu (barefoot massage) and incorporates cupping therapy and Rolfing/Structural Integration, neuromuscular therapy and sensory repatterning to give you a massage like you've never had before!
